Clinical Observation and Nursing on Acute Myocardial Infarction

Abstract
17 cases of acute myocardial infarction that were admitted in attached Hospital School of Medicine, Kyungpook University from April 1968 to December 1970, during about 2 years and half, were observed and disccussed clinic ally and in the vie:v of nursing care and the following results were obtained.
1) Acute Myocardial infarction affecteed men 5 times women, the ratio :vas 5 : 1 and the most of cases occurred from 61 to 7() years group.
2) The pain and dyspnea were chief signs in all subjective symptoms and the pain wa,s 88.2% and the dyspnea was 53.0%. In the location of the. pain, the chest pain :vas 64.7;0, the chest and abdominal pain was 11, S% and the abdominal pain also 11.8 ~ of all subjective symptoms.
3) In the electocardiographic location of the myocardial infarction, the anterior wall was 5. 2%, the posterior :vas 39.4~~, the posterior and anterioapaical was i1. S ~ and the subcardial was 5.9% of all cases.
4) In the past history of patient and its family, the hypertension :vas 27.3%, CVA and diabetes mellitus was 9.1% respectively in 11 cases of patient¢¥s history which were well described and the CVA was 15.4% of 13 cases of its family¢¥s history w*ell recorded.
5) In the complication, the arrhythmia was 23.5%, the atriculoventricular block was 17.7 o, the pulmonary edema was 11.8%. Adams-Stokes syndrom and shock :vas 5.9 o respectively in all of cases.
6) In the practical nursing care, it was agreeable that the engagement of practical nursing carried into effect, but the nursing care vas deflected to the practical nursing and was resulted in neglecting the nurse¢¥s recording. The nurse¢¥s record was described unsatisfactorily and records of admission, treatment, administration of drug and diet were described poorly but no records were described on urine, stool, nausea, vomiting and other reference.
